Our web adventures this week take us into both the great outdoors and the heart of the city with some inspirational pics, clips and tips...
The Apple Goes Green
This week everyone's gone green for St Patrick’s Day, but when the hangovers subside, it's time to for some natural detox and real greenery. Here's a great guide to eco-friendly experiences at the Top 10 Green New York Destinations.
A breath of fresh air
We've also been boozing it up here at London’s Specialist Drinking Venues and could really do with some fresh air. As it’s British Tourism Week this week, the National Trust have compiled a great list of walks around London and the South East. Ahhh, that’s better…
If you're escaping to California soon, you know the weather will be with you for outdoor fun. How about ziplining through the redwoods? Or perhaps a more leisurely wine tour around Santa Barbara? Just a couple of options for Spring Break - California Style.
Of course, there's nothing like a little Caribbean island to clear the cobwebs away and these pictures of Sandy Island off Grenada have got us salivating for a sunny break.
Back to bustling cities…Last week we ran a guide to the Best of The Bund and since then we’ve stumbled on more great tips. Shanghai is great for shopping and becomes even more fun if you know how to haggle – check out Chasing The Unexpected’s indispensable guide to the art of bargaining.
While we're in Shanghai we may as well watch the world go by. This time-lapse video of the city is amazing:
A new London icon
Back in London, we've already been talking about the city's awesome architecture where we mentioned St Pancras Station and now we discover these incredible preview pics of St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. We already want to stay the night and we live here!
Eat for Japan
And finally, we've all been affected by the stories and pictures coming out of Japan and our thoughts are with all our Japanese colleagues and friends at this time. We are working with Virgin Unite and the Red Cross to help out however we can. We also love this initiative for those in Vegas (or New York, Chicago or Miami) where you can do your part for Japan’s earthquake relief effort, just eating some sushi. Thanks to Flickr photographer Tasslehoff Burrfoot for the header image of Niagara Falls.
