Dubai offers a little slice of everything, especially when it comes to restaurants and bars. Here you can find an American cheeseburger about as easily as any dish sprinkled with traditional spices. But you’ve not booked your flight to Dubai merely for the cuisine, have you? No, you’re here for the atmosphere. And what could represent the essence of this city better than soaring heights and aquatic views? If you’re looking for a taste of the city, along with some fabulous food, then Dubai’s best rooftop restaurants are a great place to start. Here are a few of our favourite restaurants with a view in Dubai.
The words “Guinness Book of World Records” get worked over in Dubai about as much as a sheesha pipe. The most famous of those records is the Burj Khalifa, and within it, on the 122nd floor, is At.mosphere, the world’s highest restaurant. With a window seat you’ll have uninterrupted views of the city. The seasonal menu is predictably posh and the lounge’s liquor cabinet well stocked. Thankfully, it doesn’t hold the record for the most expensive menu. Although once you get the bill, you might begin to wonder.

Alta Badia, Dubai
If dining in the world’s highest restaurant churns your stomach, you can always take it down about 70 floors at Alta Badia. Located 1,024 feet off the ground on the 51st floor of the Jumeirah Emirates Tower, Alta Badia offers delicious Italian cuisine with a hefty slice of Middle Eastern panorama.

The Vault, Dubai
Go to the 71st and 72nd floor of the tallest hotel in the world, the JW Marriott Marquis, and you’re in The Vault, the world’s highest hotel bar. Touting itself as an ‘exquisite formal lounge experience’, The Vault not only prides itself on its view, but also its cigar selection and an impressive array of some of the most expensive vodka in the country.

Al Muntaha, Dubai
Within the sail-shaped beacon of the Burj Al Arab, 27 floors directly above the Persian Gulf, is Al Muntaha. The restaurant in this seven-star hotel overlooks the Palm Jumeirah and an endless stretch of blue, along with some magnificent views of the city. Being on the gulf, you would expect Al Muntaha to serve up a superlative seafood selection and, along with the likes of 900g Wagyu Beef, that’s exactly what they do. But, honestly, with a restaurant in a building this impressive, it’s not really about the food, is it?
