Who better to talk to us about distinctive style and life in Los Angeles? We can’t think of anyone.
Why base yourself in Los Angeles over more fashion-centric cities?
It's in LA that I focus my research and design my collections. It's also here that I have my home and the friends that inspire me.
How has the landscape of Los Angeles influenced your designs?
It's more the lifestyle that influences me in Los Angeles. The ocean, mountains, the different areas, these are all things that I love about LA, they are therefore the things that allow me to be creative when I'm in Los Angeles.
Where would you suggest a girl go dancing in your shoes?
In my living room, listening to favourite French 60's and 80's records. Alternatively I'll be happy if she'll just dance about anywhere in my shoes. The Spare Room at the Roosevelt has a great vibe (though I’m not sure how well my shoes would fare on the vintage bowling lanes they’ve got there!), and downtown, La Cita throws great parties – their happy “hour” lasts from 10am to 8pm, every single day of the week.
Tell us about your favourite places for fashion and fun.
The Way We Wore on La Brea is perhaps my favourite fashion spot in Los Angeles. I also love shopping at Arcade, American Rag, Barneys, and E.P.I.C.I like to hang out at El Conquistador for margaritas and the colourful owner. I also love The Spare Room, La Descarga, Soho House, Palihouse, and the Beachwood Village Café (+1 323 467 5398).
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love hiking in the Beachwood hills, Topanga Canyon, walking by the ocean, I like the small town vibe of Playa del Rey and the big town vibe of Downtown LA.
