From Miami to New York to Shanghai, famous hoteliers, architects and interior designers are pulling out all the stops in their attempts to build ever more impressive, indulgent and fashionable temples to luxury and leisure, and we're eagerly awaiting the outcome. Here's our pick of the forthcoming crop...
Enjoy a Dream break in Miami this January
First on the list is Vikram Chatwal’s much anticipated Dream South Beach which is set to open its doors in mid-January 2011. Located in the heart of iconic South Beach, adjacent to the famed Versace Mansion, the Dream is a cool and contemporary hideaway just a step from the beach. Romance in the Big Apple at the Mondrian Soho
For the ultimate Valentines getaway, the new five-star Mondrian Soho in New York City is the perfect romantic retreat. Set to open its doors in February 2011, this luxury 270-room hotel is inspired by the Jean Cocteau film, La Belle et la Bete and aims to seduce and inspire guests through distinct environments from the lobby courtyard to the jewel-box rooms.

Climb new heights at the Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong
Ritz-Carlton will make a magnificent return to Hong Kong when it opens the world’s tallest hotel in March 2011. The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong which will occupy floors 102 to 118 of the International Commerce Centre in Kowloon will have 312 rooms and six dining venues, all with fabulous views of the city.

Enjoy a glamorous getaway at the Palazzo Versace in Dubai
Get ahead of the crowd and fly to Dubai for the opening of the ultra glamorous Palazzo Versace, as shown in our header photo. Located in fashionable Dubai Creek, this £400 million property is set to open at the end of 2011 and will feature 169 private residences and 213 luxurious hotel suites, plus a range of furniture and furnishings exclusively designed by Versace. The hotel will also offer the first ever refrigerated beach, designed to keep guests cool in the searing 40-50C heat.
Enjoy a taste of the orient at the Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai Pudong
Set to open its doors at the end of 2011, this luxurious new hotel will be Four Seasons’ second property in Shanghai. The hotel, located in the city's 'skyscraper district' will offer 200 guest rooms and suites, all with spectacular views of the Shanghai skyline. And if you do stay here, remember to get up early one morning as a spectacular Pudong sunrise is one of our all-time favourite sights.
