Fort Lauderdale for Hen and Stag Dos

Celebrating your wedding day is typically a culmination of months, or even years, of planning. Therefore, every bride and groom deserves a night (or weekend) getaway to enjoy the ‘single life’ just one last time. Luckily, Fort Lauderdale offers plenty of places to enjoy the perfect hen or stag do.

Where to Stay

Choosing your humble abode for the occasion sets the tone for the type of experience you and your crew is looking for. More of a vivacious party crowd? Look no further than the W Fort Lauderdale. This modern hotel is brimming with swanky amenities, including a glass bottom pool, private cabanas, and DJs spinning tunes in the various on-site nightclubs until the wee small hours. On the flip side, if you’re in the mood for something a bit more private and low-key, The Pillars Hotel is a great boutique option for that personalized experience. Both locations provide the perfect space for you and your posse to lounge poolside during the day or head to the beach, just steps away.

Where to Dine

Ocean2000 at the Pelican Grand has an abundant weekend brunch for the girls that will impress even the harshest of critics. The pre fix buffet includes a raw bar with snow crab and oysters, along with a long list of carving stations and delectable side dishes made fresh to order. Their wraparound back porch overlooks the ocean and is available as a sophisticated outdoor dining option. If you’re looking to drink the day away with unlimited mimosas, bellinis, and bloody marys, Big City Tavern is a laid back option that’s great for the guys and also houses a select number of dishes that are brunch appropriate. Evening dining should include restaurants like Timpano Chophouse (the mussels are a must-try) and Chima Brazilian Steakhouse for great group ambiance.

Where to Dance

Entertainment should be the highlight of your trip; after all, your last fling is all about making memories with the friends who know you best. Taking a stroll down Riverfront at the end of the Los Olas district, you’ll find streets lined with bars, lounges, and clubs such as America’s Backyard and Off the Hookah. It’s definitely a younger crowd that may bring back a few distant memories of dancing on bars and funnelling a few beers back at college. Needless to say, you’re in for a good time, even if you can’t remember it in the morning. If you’re looking for something a little more chic, Vibe Las Olas or American Social are popular spots for specialty cocktails and extensive wine and craft beer menus.
