Glasgow has great gusto for taking its creative, community spirit to the streets whether with its festival calendar or more quietly in its welcoming green spaces. We chose these videos because they work individually and as a whole to depict Glasgow in all its different guises. Photo: Ben Kucinski
"The Merchant City Glasgow" by Nur Rahim Bima
Shot largely in the evening in winter 2011, this video shows one of Glasgow’s fastest growing areas, with its footage of Merchant City. We also love how it gives a flavour of what the city is like in winter with the carousel and food stalls.
"Kelvingrove" by Chris James
This is a lovely fly on the wall snapshot of Scotland's most visited attraction. As a slow meander through one of Glasgow’s biggest attractions it really shows the scale and range on show.
"Dervish and Kevin Burke Play Farewell to Erin at Celtic Connections 2010" by Brian McDonagh
The Celtic Connections music festival has been going for over 20 years in Glasgow with a bumper programme from around the globe. Folk, roots, indie and jazz are all represented but this is a nice snapshot of a more intimate moment.
"West End Festival" by johncox88
As a year round festival city, Glasgow and Edinburgh are well-matched, with the former’s West End festival really capturing the city’s community feel and creative spirit.
"Botanics" by Dougie Young
Pretty in its simplicity, this is about showcasing Glasgow’s capacity for providing beautiful serene places just minutes away from the throng of the busy city streets.
