Edinburgh welcomed Little Red in style last night with a fun-packed party at The Caves in the heart of the Old Town. Painting the skies red were a host of celebrity guests including Sir Richard Branson, Jonathan Ross and his son Harvey, actor John Hannah, actor Billy Boyd, rugby stars Gavin Hastings and Greig Laidlaw, Hearts footballers Jamie MacDonald, Dylan McGowan, Ryan Stevenson, Andy Webster and manager Gary Locke, cyclist Gary Obree, Chef Tom Kitchen, comedian Des Clarke, radio DJs Jennie Cooke, Garry Spence and Grant Stott, and designer Howie Nicholsby of 21st Century Kilts; creator of Sir Richard's kilt.
Back in an ordinary pair of jeans after yesterday's kilt-wearing stunt, Sir Richard welcomed everyone to Edinburgh, including the team from Edinburgh airport who arrived at the party fresh from the success of the morning's inaugural activity.
Sir Richard and Jonathan had a laugh together and even appeared to have their own special greeting.
Actor John Hannah was pleased to be back in town. "I've had a great day catching up with pals, and loved flying up on Little Red," he said. "The party's been great and I always love coming home."
Jonathan Ross poses with a very dapper looking Chef Tom Kitchin and his wife, who are expecting twins.
Rugby star Gavin Hastings was in his element. "I'm having a great time at the party tonight," he said. "The whisky cocktails are amazing!"
"I'm thrilled to be at the party - there's such a great atmosphere," said actor Billy Boyd, flanked by two of our glamourous Little Red crew members.
The room was split into different bar areas, including a Dewars whisky cocktail bar, Little Red relaxation zone, and for the peckish there was a delicious hog roast, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and some truly tempting 'canapies' from Square Pie.
Partygoers enjoyed free-flowing whisky cocktails throughout the night, with entertainment provided by a series of performers including a stilt walker and magician, and music from The Red Hot Chili Pipers, Sway and a DJ set from Goldie to round off the night.
The party went on to the wee hours, with Sway getting everyone onto the dance floor and Goldie ensuring no-one left.
"I'm a massive fan of Virgin Atlantic and I always fly with you guys," said Jonathan Ross. "I'm really thrilled to be at the party tonight to join the celebrations. I'm always happy to support Virgin Atlantic and the new service looks great."
